SYRIA 2012 The destruction of Taftanaz, a village in northern Idlib province, Syria, was part of a scorched earth campaign by the forces of Bashar Al-Assad in the days leading up to the cease-fire agreement brokered by Kofi Annan in early April. 82 people died in the town, one of the largest massacres in the north of the country. The cease-fire collapsed soon after it's implementation, and now Syria is embroiled in a full scale civil war. |
